In the spirit of the trip, "Tuck-n-Roll" has started a contest to name his new 1989 Harley Ultra Classic. This contest is limited to those staying in the lodge with us. The winner gets dinner on Allen. So far the entries are:

Shirley as in "Shirley, it will cost you more money" entered by Tricky Ricky
Gladys, the Geezer Bike and I'm also "Glad-ys not mine!" entered by Aleta
Miss Prissy entered by Glenn
Sally entered by Dion
Elvira entered by Jill
Thor, The Norse God of Thunder entered by Phil (he says he likes his steak Medium Rare).

It is less than 24 hours before the Trickster and I blow out of town. We are all set to go. We have 4 sets of maps. One from Google, one from AAA, another US Highway map and four pieced together with one route up and another more scenic route home. If you call more corn fields scenic. So if we get lost, there is no hope. My GPS from Telenav won't even help us. Something about the guy who sold the phone on ebay broke it first. Or he bought it broken and figured he would pass on the phone to another sucker. No wonder it was such a great price. But since I'm a girl, I have NO PROBLEM asking for directions. Hopefully, we won't pass the three cows in the field with the score cards that say DUMB ASS on them. Jacqui..... you should have asked for directions! Now you'll (scratch that) WE'LL just have to listen to the cow story forever.

I came home the other day from work to find Ricky's bike loaded down. A big Yellow and Black Kodak bag strapped across the back seat. My first thought was that he had turned into a GA YellowJacket fan, but a closer look told me he was having a Kodak moment. Now if that doesn't say scenic roadtrip all over it, I don't know what does.

The "Miserable 3" (felines) went to Me-Maw & Pa Paws for a luxurious oceanfront stay. The dog is going to a her best friend's house for two weeks of weight training and playing chase (she'll probably be dead of exhaustion in a week). The squirrel has squirreled away enough nuts to last until Christmas so she'll be fine too. She'll probably even enjoy the cats being on vacation and not terrorizing her at night.

So other than a few errands, we are just watching the clock tick until it is time to head out. I'll be taking some sort of sleeping pill tonight, other wise I'll be punching Ricky every few hours saying "Can we go yet? Can we go yet?" Leaving at the crack of dawn is a good possibility besides there will be less traffic and the temp will be cooler. All in all, I think we have thought of everything. Who am I kidding, we'll forget something. It is a prerequisite for any of my trips. Whatever it is, hopefully it won't be expensive when I have to buy another one.

Some photos in preparation of the adventure

This is Allen's new ride. The one he is seeking a name for. Phil's got the BMW out and is getting ready to load up. A picture of Glen & Jill taken at Laconia this past summer.
Debbie & Greg are ready to roll, they just have to wait a few days. I know it is killing them. Tricky Ricky requested that color clarification be made that his bike is not Kawasaki Purple but rather Harley Davidson Violet Blue...... I always say you can justify anything!
